Happy Scented New Year to everyone!

The new year always brings a greater awareness of change in there air, and this blog is no different.  Yes, change can feel a bit ominous, like a ghost in the room, this only because it shakes us out of our comfort zone.

The creative process is anything but linear and sure, most times we arrive at a masterpiece in the most round-about ways.  I typically begin by being gripped by a name, like the name of a perfume I want to create, a book title or a blog post, then from somewhere the words evolve followed by an image – one reason why I’m exploring photography as an art form.

When I started this blog I only knew I wanted to write about my journey into making perfumes.  A nebulous name formed and I took off with that.  I’m glad I did start before waiting for the perfect ingredients to combine, I could have wasted precious months of  creating, writing.  Even if it wasn’t perfect in the beginning, better beginning than sitting there dreaming about it.

This blog has seen one name change already but it will go through one final change of name.  Beginning next week this blog will be called Her 2 Scents.  It just fits, I think, so much better.  It’s much more visceral and that’s when I know I’m onto something, that it’s right. So I bought the URL and decided to jump into the change in January.

Even though I know the ultimate decision rests on me I was really worried about freaking you guys out with yet another name change, so let me know what you think.
